Careers
Build products that matter. Skip the busywork.
Alloy is a product studio that finds the gaps in the Shopify platform, funds the R&D, and ships public solutions. We’re a small team that operates like a well-funded lab — not an agency.
Open Roles
No open positions right now.
We’re not actively hiring, but we’re always interested in hearing from exceptional people. If you think you’d be a good fit, reach out — we keep every introduction on file.
General applications
Send us a note about what you’d want to build and why Alloy is the right place for you. No cover letters — just be direct.
How we work
Small team. High leverage.
We don’t have product managers, project managers, or scrum masters. Engineers own the full stack — from problem discovery to production deployment. If you need permission to make a decision, this isn’t the right place.
We’re based in Melbourne but work remotely. Timezone overlap is appreciated, not required. What matters is that you ship.
What we value
Ship the product, not the pitch
We don’t sell roadmaps. If it’s not built, tested, and running in production, it doesn’t exist. Every person here writes code that ships.
Own the outcome
No handoffs. You build it, ship it, and maintain it. When something breaks at 2am, it’s your problem — and you have the autonomy to fix it however you see fit.
Enterprise mindset, startup speed
Pod-per-tenant isolation, audit trails, RBAC — baked in from day one. But we ship weekly, not quarterly. Small team, no committees.
Prove it with data
Opinions are cheap. We validate against production conditions, write test harnesses before features, and let metrics settle arguments.
Benefits
No ping-pong tables. Just good defaults.
Remote-first
Work from anywhere. No offices, no mandatory co-location.
Async by default
No meetings that could be PRs. Written communication is the norm.
Deep work culture
Maker schedules. No Slack-as-a-job. Focus time is protected.
Hardware budget
Top-spec equipment. Whatever you need to do your best work.
Flexible hours
Ship on your schedule. We care about output, not online status.
